Nakama Distillery is a small family-run awamori distillery in the Miyara area of Ishigaki Island, Okinawa Prefecture, which it describes as the smallest sake brewery in Okinawa. It produces a single awamori brand, Miyanotsuru, using traditional methods such as wooden steaming equipment and a pot still, with production volumes kept low. The company says it was founded in 1948.
